The weekends events

Here is the rundown of how the weekend will go: Thursday all day we will be hanging the slalom course at roundup rapid. This is fairly labor intensive so the more bodies we get up there the faster and easier the process. 10 am at Roundup until we get tired or finish, but anytime you can make it will be just fine. Beverages could be provided :) Friday we will finish the hanging of the slalom course if need be. The at 6pm we will hold a slalom clinic at Roundup. Saturday 10:30am at Johnsrud will be the start of the downriver race, well the race starts at 11 but the quick meeting will be at 10:30. Registration will be prior to that at Johnsrud. This event starts at Johnsrud and goes 10-11 miles down to the Weigh Station access site. This is a nice stretch of river with a fair amount of flat water with a few class 1+ rapids in there. It is good for all paddle abilities. Saturday 4pm at Roundup we will be having some sort of sprint or shorter race. This particular event is different each year, so we'll see what happens this year. Sunday 10am at Roundup will be the slalom. This usually goes for a good portion of the day. Slalom s where you maneuver your boat through gates both up and down stream while paddling through Roundup rapid. There are different classes depending on the type of boat you choose to paddle. For instance, creek boat kayak, playboat kayak, solo canoe, tandem canoe etc.... you can enter multiple classes. Camping- assuming we can get there in time and get the sites we will be camping at Nine Mile Prairie campground. There is only 3 sites there, but this year I have worked out a deal with FWP to allow a few extra people per site. **Cost- 1 event will be $20, 2 or more events will be $25. The slalom clinic will be $5 w/ food donation or $10 w/out a food. Camping may be free, but I will be very much encouraging donations for that as well. Remember this is a benefit for the Missoula Food Bank so bring some food to donate. Also the proceeds from your entry fees will be donated as well. Entry fee also includes event swag, and loads of fun. Please message me if you have any questions. Hope to see you out there!!

Thanks to the sponsors!!

Have to give a big thanks to this years sponsors, they stepped even bigger than previous years. Without these sponsors this event may not even happen, but more importantly they are helping the Missoula Food Bank and the community. --Whitewater Rescue Institute --The Trailhead --Black Dog Construction and Ameriprise Financial- Chet Morris
